Crossbred breed is the semi-fine meat and wool breed. This breed was obtained by hybridizing a stag of English meat breed (Lincoln, romnie-marsh, etc.) with merinos dam. The sheep of this breed give the uniform wool of white color with strongly marked fiber shine. The fiber fineness is from 23,1 to 37 mkm. The length is from 45 to 250mm. Nowadays crossbred wool is considered to be very highly-valued for textile industry. Concerning our scientists’ information there at least 600 sheep breeds and 45% of processed wool is crossbred wool. In New Zealand more than 60 mln crossbred sheep is reared.
