Sheep wool of Merinos breed

Merinos (Spanish) is a sheep breed with uniform fine wool. The motherland of the fine fleece sheeps is the Middle Asia where they were ranched from 2-3 BC. Afterwards they appeared at the Mediterranean counties and since the 18th century they appeared in the West European, North American countries and in Australia. In the 19th and in the beginning of the 20th century the Merinos of several types was brought to Russia from other countries— electoral, infantado, negretti and rambullier breed as well as the species breeded by the Russian squatters — Russian infantado, Mazaev, new Caucasus. The merinos wool consists of fine (18-25 mkm) soft downy fibers. The fleece is of staple construction and the length of wool  is 6-8 cm per year. The merinos sheep are ranched in the most countries of the world. Throughout the centuries the merinos sheep gives people fine and warm wool. Carefully selected merinos wool is remarkable for excellent quality, softness and comfort at any season.
